The 5 gites at Eloi Merle are located next to the large swimming pool. These super, self catering cottages have been converted from staff quarters and stables. They are situated within a large garden which offers peace and tranquility. This accommodation is only suitable for adult couples.
The owners also offer bed & breakfast accommodation in their, sympathetically restored, 300 year old residence. All rooms are en-suite. This three storey mansion was originally built by a wealthy wine producer called Eloi Merle.
Eloi Merle House and Gites are located in the market town of Olonzac in the wine producing Minervois Valley. This accommodation is within walking distance of amenities and ideally placed for exploring all that this region has to offer. Narbonne, Beziers, Carcassonne and Perpignan are all nearby.

Eloi Merle Gites are situated in Olonzac in the heart of Languedoc. See map for location of Olonzac.
Olonzac is a larger village with plenty of amenities. These include cafés, restaurants, banks, bakeries, butchers, a deli, general grocery stores, a supermarket and a weekly market. There are many more good restaurants within a few minutes' drive. Wines produced by the Oupia and Olonzac co-operatives are sold here.
The Lac de Jouarres is just outside Olonzac. The lake has a sandy beach and a café/snack bar.This area is good for swimming, sailing and walking.
The village of Minerve and the Canal du Midi are both ten minutes drive away. They are also easily accessible by bicycle. The Montagne Noire is 20 minutes away and the Mediterranean beaches 35-40 minutes. Excellent day excursions include the Pyrénées, Cathar castles, the National Park of the Upper Languedoc and north-eastern Spain.
