County Kerry, Ireland |
County Kerry is situated in the south-west of Ireland. Kerry is mountainous in the south with the Beara,
Iveragh and Dingle peninsulas. To the north the county has a smaller 'plains' area that stretches up to the Shannon estuary. Sandy bays, cliffs and rocky headlands alternate along Kerry's coast. This region is famous for its areas of outstanding beauty, such as the Ring
of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula.
The Dingle Peninsula boast beautiful scenery, sandy beaches, historic and archaeological sites, award winning restaurants and a lively pub scene with live traditional
music sessions. Other local activities include walking, bird watching, boogy boards, wet suits, surf boarding, wind
surfing, sailing, golfing, cycling, bowling, horse riding and shopping.
Visits to the Oceanworld Aquarium and the Blasket
Island Interpretative Centre are highly recommended and don;t
forget to check out Fungie, the bottlenose dolphin who has been
living at the mouth of Dingle Harbour since 1984. |
