first floor holiday apartment is situated in a tiny hamlet called Vallopara
(about 620m above sea level) and it is set in the hills north of
Rieti. The area is ideal area for walking and there are some beautiful
local villages to explore. The nearest village is Colli sul Velino, where there is a food shop, a chemist's and a bar. There is a restaurant/pizzeria 4km away. The beautiful town of Rieti is only about 20 mins drive. It is an ideal setting for a holiday in the summer, when the house is relatively cool, or in the winter for skiing at the neighbouring ski resort of Terminillo (about 45 mins) For more information see www.terminillo.it As you can see from the photos, the windows of this self catering apartment give the most wonderful views of mountains, valleys, and beautiful countryside. |

The apartment is spacious and
airy. The main living room has a large dining table for four and a
log fire for use in the winter. There's also central heating. Leading
off from the main room, you will find a well-equipped kitchen with
a gas cooker with 4 gas rings and an oven, and a washing machine. There
is a bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom with a bath and shower.
At the end of the apartment there's a delightful sitting room, which
can be used to accommodate additional people on the double sofa bed. |

A car is needed for this apartment.The
nearest international airports are Rome Fiumicino & Ciampino. These
are about an hour & a half drive away. This is an ideal area
for walking
& there are some beautiful local villages. Umbria is only a couple
of kilometres along the road. Places such as
Assisi only 89 km away (about 1 hour 20 mins). From Rieti there are
buses to Rome every 30 mins taking 1 hr 40 mins and costing only €3.30
