Gozo is the second largest island of the Maltese Archipelago. Gozo is separated from mainland Malta by a 5km stretch of the Mediterranean Sea. It is very different from Malta. Gozo always looks greener for most part of the year. Gozo is tranquil, and treasures its peace.
The island is 14km by 7km in area and roughly circular in shape. Gozo is hilly and much of its coast is surrounded by cliffs. The island is rural and simple. Culture and way of life is rooted in fishing, primitive agricultural activity. Although Gozo is peaceful, it is not isolated.
Gozo has plenty of good and varied restaurants. The visitor is spoilt for choice! Gozo is renowned for its cottage industries, particularly spinning and weaving. Lace is the most widespread doorstep craft.
