is an exclusive restaurant, bar and Irish bar in the
nearby Pueblo Acantillado. There is a bus link for
the scenic Alicante to Denia coastal railway, which
has stops all along the coast including San Juan, Campello,
Villajoyosa, Benidorm and Altea. |

Campello is located in the heart of the Costa
Blanca between the historic City of Alicante
(13kms) and the well known holiday resort of
Benidorm (30kms). Is was formally just a small
fishing village but now an important seaside
holiday town. Campello has many beaches and coves, 23 kms
in all, from the vast and impressive golden sand beach
of Playa Muchavista to small reclusive rocky coves at Coveta
Fuma, with a suitable Mediterranean Sea for fishing and
aquatic sports. There is also a mountainous area, ideal
for excursions into uninhabited zones with many paths of
great ecological interest.
A prominent landmark is the Tower Vigia (watchtower) of the Illeta dating from
1554, where you can also find the archaeological site of La Illeta dels Banyests
dating from the Bronze Age. In the town you can visit the Parochial Church devoted
to Saint Teresa. |
