Kalkan is an unspoilt, small, picturesque harbour town on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. Kalkan overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and is enclosed by a backdrop of mountains. The town is made up of narrow cobbled streets and which are full of small, interesting shops and restaurants offering all types of cuisine as well as traditional Turkish menus.

Kalkan has a tiny beach and many people prefer to swim from one of the 5 Beach Clubs in the area. Two of these run a free taxi service. There are sandy beaches nearby at Kaputash and Patara.
Kalkan is an ideal location for water sports and jeeps can be hired for exploring mountain villages, trout farms and restaurants. Transfers can be arranged from Dalaman Airpor.
